Hen Party Retreats

So now that January is well out of the way, days are getting longer and brighter, the promise of Spring is in the air and the bride tribes are out in force it seems, looking for the perfect hen party destinations.

As promised, I have put together a few of my favourites spots for 2022. This blog is dedicated to hen party retreats- little hidden gems for the bride tribe getaway where you get together and make your own fun. You won't find city break party locations here (maybe I'll write another blog about that soon.)

Here are some of the places I've been recommending this year so far....

First up is this pretty barn conversion in Killyleagh made up of 3 separate houses and it works really well for the big hen parties. I recommend Strangford View Mews all the time as it ticks a lot of boxes. Located overlooking Strangford Lough (views), the outdoor spaces are fantastic with fire pit, BBQ and of course, the hot tub. It is situated in a pretty little hot tub pavilion. Strangford View Mews is also just 10 minutes drive from Killyleagh for bars & restaurants.

Strangford View Mews is the ultimate for hen party collabs. The host, Jill, works with mobile cocktail bars, karaoke & entertainment units, butler service (oh yes, it's true), the fantastic Tracey's Farmhouse Kitchen, a mobile beauty salon for massages and more...so you can add these extras on to your stay.

I sent lots of hen parties to Corralea last year. They have this amazing outdoor Eco Spa experience with woodburning sauna & hot tub in the middle of the forest overlooking Upper Lough MacNean. Located just 20 minutes from Enniskillen. Outdoor activities include canoeing & e-biking but the Eco Spa experience is something else. You can book this as a day package or book Corralea cottages onsite.

They have 4 cottages sleeping 4- 8 guests depending on the cottage you choose. You can book your outdoor adventure, follow it up with a forest bathing session in the hot tub & sauna (they have a little fridge and everything down there for your 'refreshments') then you can head back to the cottages with a big outdoor communal space perfect for BBQ's and enjoying the summer's evenings in such a beautiful forest setting.

Hen party packages available. You'll find more info on my website- see Special Offers.

On the banks of the River Bann, you'll find this pretty country hideaway set on acres of land where you can relax and unwind. It's a great place for a smaller hen party of up to 7 guests and they have just put in a new wood burning hot tub. I love Brecart Lodge because they know how to put a great package together - from graze boxes to drinks hampers... they can sort it for you.

Mountainview offers luxury cabin accommodation. The entire resort can accommodate 21 guests across 7 lodges (and they're adding more lodges at the minute too).

The facilities are great for hens. They have a day spa onsite for massages and facials, a relaxation room, hot tubs & sauna. There is also a BBQ hut, a communal lodge and an absolutely cracking viewpoint over the mid-Ulster countryside.

(This place is also home to the 'Hobbit House' which I rave about regularly on my socials. Unbelievable.)

Stay in the country house and/or log cabin (sleeps 14 guests in total). Packages include dinner, use of the hot tub, bubbly and full cooked breakfast the next morning. You can also add massages or facials to your hen package too.

This is one for all the glampers! Outdoors, nature & quality time with friends. 3 individually themed glamping cabins close to Castlewellan & Newcastle. Each cabin sleeps a minimum of 5 and they have a spacious communal area, 'The Shack,' for BBQ's and dining. And, they are dog friendly if you want to bring your pup along! A firm hen party favourite.

As always, I have added the links to each of the above so you can head over to their websites to have a look. Always book your accommodation DIRECT and mention 'Staycations NI' at the time of booking for best rates.

Of course, if you still can't find what you're looking for, you can contact Staycations NI directly at info@staycationsni.co.uk or drop me a PM/ DM to my socials @StaycationsNI.
