This week I was thinking of all the families and friends who had missed out on time together during lock down. I started looking for self-catering properties in Northern Ireland suitable for large groups and extended family bookings. Finding properties with 8+ bedrooms for exclusive use proved trickier than I thought. There are quite a few locations that take groups over several of their cottages or houses and a few B&Bs have also diversified into exclusive use given the current situation. Here are a few ideas for exclusive group stays....
Banoge House, Donaghcloney
This beautiful 18th century house is available for exclusive bookings of up to 24 guests. 10 elegantly decorated bedrooms, many with ensuite bathrooms. Located in Donaghcloney which is between Dromore and Lurgan and only about 10 minutes drive from Banbridge (I had to Google it- I'd never heard of Donaghcloney). The huge house has extensive gardens to enjoy during your stay- perfect for families.
Ashbrooke House, Enniskillen
Private, exclusive and surrounded by 1000 acres of countryside on Colebrooke Estate, this newly refurbished house has 8 bedrooms (5 ensuite). One of the bedrooms is fully accessible. Large reception hall with formal sitting room with open fire, large open kitchen with aga and large informal family room.

Legacurry Mill, Lisburn For the ultimate 4 star luxury group staycation, you can book Legacurry Mill for up to 15 guests. The facilities in this place are just outstanding!! Pool, hot tub, sauna and gym available for use. Snooker/pool & games room. Home cinema. Everything you could possibly need is onsite!
Ralph's, Moira
Although this is B&B accommodation, I thought it was definitely worth a mention because of the private party packages available- ideal for special occasions. Set in a private walled courtyard, the marquee holds up to 30 guests and includes party lights, fridge freezer, bar, music, hot tub and outdoor stove. Bed spaces for 19 guests. Breakfast included. The rear of the property can be isolated from the front for private party use. Everything you need for a great night away!!
