For a 'paw'-fect staycation....

One of the best things about the staycation is that you can take your four- legged, fur-baby with you. No headache trying to find someone to look after your beloved pooch and no additional costs for boarding kennels means less stress and more spending money!

And of course, your dog gets to come along and enjoy a 'pupcation' (yes, this hashtag exists. No, I didn't just make it up). I've been taking a look at dog friendly accommodation around Northern Ireland this week.

So, here are some of my top picks for your next staycation ...

Located between Portrush and Portstewart on the North Coast, this pet friendly hotel has thought of everything to make your dog feel welcome- from an arrival 'pooch pack' to a special seating area in their pub bistro so you and your dog can enjoy dinner together.

Not only is this hotel dog friendly, they actually host dog friendly weddings!!

Beautiful 17th century manor house, 2 miles from Derry~Londonderry. Pawsecco or Doggy beer on arrival and a special 'Doggy Menu.'

This 4 star hotel in Belfast city has amazing views over the Lagan, spacious bedroom and modern bathroom. City centre location but with the serenity of the riverside. And you can bring your pet to enjoy your city break!!

Perfectly situated on the North Coast, close to many Game of Thrones locations, there is no one who would love a North Coast adventure more than your dog with all those beaches and the open space. Tip: they keep tasty dog treats at the bar.

Surround yourself in nature at Lusty Beg with your beloved doggie by your side- plenty of walking trails to enjoy together. Choose an ensuite courtyard bedroom or one of their self catering lodges or cabins. Spa facilities available (for humans only).
