Relaxing hot tub stay in County Down

Nestled in the foothills of Slieve Croob, Dromara, you'll find Dan's Wee Cottage. A traditional cottage dating back to the 1800's, now lovingly renovated to provide a beautiful four star rural retreat overlooking the County Down countryside.

The rich red front door opens into the heart of the cottage- a cosy, relaxing snug. With comfortable sofa and rocking chair, wood burning stove and logs provided, this inviting space has all the character of the original cottage.

The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests. The main bedroom has a very comfortable double bed with good quality linens, space for a proper cot, robust wooden furniture with plenty of storage and full length mirror. The ensuite bathroom has a freestanding bath, light up mirror over sink with feature exposed original brick (a lovely 'nod' to the traditional cottage). The second bedroom sleeps 4 in large, comfortable double bed, single bed and pull out single bed. Again, plenty of furniture for storage.

As you take the few steps down into the open plan kitchen/dining area, this amazing, huge feature window gets all your attention. With panoramic views of the hills and fields of cows and sheep. The farm animals are always a hit with children!

The kitchen has all the mod cons you'd expect from four star accommodation with cooker, washing machine, dryer, fridge and a lovely welcome basket with a selection of goodies to enjoy on arrival.

Large table for family dining and a side board full of wine glasses, gin glasses, champagne flutes... whatever you might need, the hosts have thought of it. You'll find some local take away menus in the drawer in case you don't feel like cooking!

Sink into the L- shaped sofa or soft armchair and admire those views. Smart TV with Netflix in the living area and WIFI throughout the property.

The main bathroom with wet room and power shower is located off the kitchen area. The patio doors in the living area open to a paved terrace with picnic table and fire pit for al fresco dining.

At the rear of the house, in front of that huge window is a bench to enjoy those views from outside and at the bottom of the garden is the wood burning hot tub!! Under it's own little pergola. Relax and enjoy the hot tub while looking up at the stars or out at the countryside by night. Then, come in and relax by the woodburning stove.

Those views will be there to welcome you in the morning.

Only 15 minutes drive to Hillsborough Castle, Hillsborough Forest Park or Montalto Estate. 20 minutes will take you to Castlewellan Forest Park and Murlough Bay. A great base for exploring Newcastle and the Mournes.
