This week I took a look at bed and breakfast accommodation around Northern Ireland. The bed and breakfast experience is intimate and authentic and there are some cracking ones across Northern Ireland and the breakfasts... oh the breakfasts are always AMAZING!! Here are a few of my picks:
Portcaman House B&B, Bushmills
Situated along the Causeway Coast in the village of Bushmills, Portcaman has recently undergone a complete refurbishment. It is a modern B&B only a few minutes walk from the shops, cafes and bars of Bushmills. All rooms have king size beds with ensuite bathrooms. As well as offering double rooms, Portcaman offer a triple which is good for a family of 3 and they also have an accessible triple room (really important). Prices start from £85 per night.
The Dufferin Coaching Inn, Killyleagh An enchanting 4 star B&B in the picturesque village of Killyleagh on the shores of Strangford Lough, it was originally a bank and retains many of its original charming features. Killyleagh is such a lovely village. Home to Killyleagh Castle, thought to be the oldest inhabited castle in the county. This is a great North Down location for exploring Game of Thrones filming locations including Castle Ward. I personally just love to sit by the harbour and watch the little boats. This B&B prides itself on their locally sourced breakfasts and it seems the guests can't get enough of them!! Autumn/ Winter offer- 2 nights B&B with dinner on one evening JUST £209!
The Tree-house B&B, Portglenone
With 5 double bedrooms with ensuite, The Tree-house offers a tranquil setting in Portglenone. Portglenone Forest with stunning walks is right on the doorstep and the village with shops, cafes and bars is close by and on the way to the Causeway Coast. The Tree-house have a great offer at the minute which includes overnight stay with hot tub, dinner (pizza, sides, drinks) and breakfast the next morning from just £110 for 2 adults!! The Dog House next door will provide an overnight stay for your pet if you want to bring your dog along too(subject to surcharge).
The Mulberrys B&B, Crossgar
The Mulberrys is a beautifully restored farmhouse and luxury B&B just outside Crossgar, near Downpatrick. This charming bed and breakfast has 3 bedrooms, all with ensuite and beautiful gardens - a perfect little haven. Breakfast is locally sourced with eggs from their own free range hens (love that.). The location is ideal for following St. Patrick's Trail and for visiting the Mourne Mountains. Double/ twin rooms from £90 per night.
Glendarragh House, Whitehead
A four storey Victorian family home on the shores of Belfast Lough, Glendarragh House is just a short walk to the shore or to the centre of the town. It's location makes it so special- the Blackhead Lighthouse walk is close by and the Lighthouse Bistro is a must-visit. You are only 2 miles from the Gobbins cliff path visitors centre and Carrickfergus is only a short drive away. Double and family rooms available.
Kiltariff Hall Country House, Rathfriland
Kiltariff Hall is a beautiful Victorian country house in Rathfriland with extensive gardens. The period features are absolutely beautiful, particularly the original fireplaces. It certainly has real character! Ideal for exploring the Mournes and only a short drive to three great forest parks- Kilbroney, Castlewellan and Tolleymore. I featured Kiltariff Hall earlier this summer on Staycations NI and received great feedback from one of my followers who booked. Autumn/ Winter offer- 2 nights stay for 2 sharing with afternoon tea in the drawing room, dinner and breakfast the next morning- £240 ( now that's a great offer).
As always, I've added links to each website if you just click on the name. All offers are subject to availability and only available when you book direct with the accommodation provider.
